Academically, I have held appointments at various pharmacy and medical schools in Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska. I currently serve as the Science Officer for the American Pharmacists Association.
My formal training is in the field of pharmacy (BPharm, University of Louisiana-Monroe; PharmD, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center; Infectious Diseases Residency & Fellowship, Infectious Diseases & Clinical Research, OU-HSC) and I maintain national certification as a clinical trial investigator.
With respect to professional engagement, my background includes: elected by peers to serve numerous leadership positions for national, regional and local professional organizations; serving leadership roles on various interdisciplinary healthcare task forces addressing matters such as workforce issues, linkages to care; federally appointed to serve as an NIH reviewer; and served as a voting member on the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research’s Antiviral Advisory Committee (2008 – 2011).
