Summit

ASHP and the ASHP Research and Education Foundation are convening the 2014 ASHP Ambulatory Care Conference and Summit; which offers ambulatory care practitioners a unique and valuable opportunity to influence the future of practice through consensus building activities held during the Summit portion of the conference. This Summit is a continuation of the Pharmacy Practice Model Initiative (PPMI) that began in 2010. All meeting attendees are encouraged to participate in the Summit activities and help build the foundation to expand pharmacist’s roles in ambulatory care settings.

About the Summit

During this landmark event, all attendees will have the opportunity to develop critical recommendations that aim to advance patient care and optimize pharmacists’ roles in ambulatory care settings with a specific focus on four domains. As a registrant of the conference, you will have exclusive access to briefing documents that will be utilized for consensus development regarding the following domains:

  • Defining and Advancing Ambulatory-Care Pharmacy Practice
  • Patient Care Delivery and Integration
  • Sustainable Business Models
  • Outcomes Evaluation

Summit activities will be led by a 40-member Consensus Recommendations Panel [PDF] comprised of pharmacists, physicians, and nurses from a wide array of ambulatory practice settings, with diverse roles and responsibilities. Prior to the conference, draft recommendations will be developed and disseminated to all registered attendees.

In addition to laying the groundwork for the future of ambulatory care practice, meeting participants will network with leaders in the field and discuss contemporary and emerging challenges that face practitioners.
