Bio

In September 2012, I joined the University of North Texas System College of Pharmacy in Ft. Worth, Texas as Professor of Pharmacotherapy. From 2005 - 2012, I was the Director of Clinical Research and maintained primary responsibility for research operations of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences' Dybedal Center for Clinical Research. Academically, I have held appointments at various pharmacy and medical schools in Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska. I currently serve as the Science Officer for the American Pharmacists Association. My formal training is in the field of pharmacy (BPharm, University of Louisiana-Monroe; PharmD, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center; Infectious Diseases Residency & Fellowship, Infectious Diseases & Clinical Research, OU-HSC) and I maintain national certification as a clinical trial investigator. With respect to professional engagement, my background includes: elected by peers to serve numerous leadership positions for national, regional and local professional organizations; serving leadership roles on various interdisciplinary healthcare task forces addressing matters such as workforce issues, linkages to care; federally appointed to serve as an NIH reviewer; and served as a voting member on the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research’s Antiviral Advisory Committee (2008 – 2011). I am proud to be a US Army veteran who regularly attends Catholic Church with his wife of over 20 years and have two amazing children that have excelled in their public schools.
