How to Get Started

Follow our step-by-step instructions below to get up and running on Connect and collaborating with your peers.


1 Join/Login
To participate fully on Connect, you must register as an ASHP user or login with your ASHP member account. Please keep in mind that some functionality and content is restricted to ASHP members only and you must join ASHP to have full access.
2 Profile
Update your profile and add a profile picture to make network connections and be recognized among your peers. Change your privacy preferences to share or hide any part of your profile. The more you share, the more connections you will make.
3 Communities/Discussion Groups
Join a community
and start a discussion. You can join as many open communities as you like. Use discussions to ask a question and have a conversation with your peers (use blogs to share your opinion about a topic).
4 Subscriptions/Notifications
Manage your discussion group subscriptions to get email notifications when YOU want them. You can choose between daily digest (recommended), real-time notifications, and no email notifications.
5 Blogs
Read a blog or post one of your own. Blogs are used to share your opinion about a topic of interest or an idea (use discussion groups to ask a question).
6 Events
Check out the interactive event calendar to view upcoming activities and meetings, or add your own events to get the recognition they deserve.
7 Contacts
Find a contact to connect with and add them to your own personal network – a great way to share with your friends or colleagues.
