My health care professional experience spans over 25 years and includes drug information specialist; direct patient care roles in hospital and home infusion pharmacy; pharmacy director for a multi-facility group medical practice, and for a 390 bed regional medical center in a large health system; sales associate for a healthcare software vendor; and now, associate director responsible for medication use systems for a large health insurer and care provider. Some past accomplishments along this path include creating practical computer tools for data analysis, reporting, and system maintenance; implementing safe medication use practices that exceed recognized community standard; establishing effective P&T processes to manage quality, safety, and cost; implementing effective clinical pharmacy and cost optimization programs; designed and implemented a staff training and credentialing program to set consistent performance expectations among staff while providing opportunity for individual professional growth; designed a process to assure continuous compliance with medication use accreditation standards; and, application of lean management techniques to daily work in the pharmacy.
