Don’t miss a beat – just Tweet #ashpsm!

Have you ever gone to a meeting and wished that you could be in two places at the same time?

Include the meeting hashtag #ashpsm in your tweets for the ASHP Summer Meeting (and search on #ashpsm) and you’ll see what others are experiencing. A few attendees who tweeted at past meetings described it well.

“Twitter provided up-to-the-minute play-by-play coverage of the meeting, gave me insight into programs I wasn't even attending, and even helped me network.”

“It's fun to find another way to get excited about a meeting that already has so much going on. The twitter feed always let me know what was going on, even when I was feeling a little overwhelmed. Also, since you have to pick between 2 sessions at most times, Twitter is a great way to still see what's going on in the other session.”

Twitpic Photo Album

All the pictures that are attached to your tweets will be gathered and organized into a Summer Meeting Photo Album and uploaded to Youtube for all to see. (See the 2010 Midyear Twitter Album here. )

Be sure and stop by the ASHP Membership Information Center at the meeting to pick up a 2011 Summer Meeting Twitter Button and where it proudly.

Twitter Contest

ASHP will again host a Summer Meeting Twitter Contest! Some answers to your contest questions follow:

  • How is it judged?  It is judged partly by you! After the meeting, tweeters can vote for their choice via a short survey link that will be tweeted by @ashpofficial.  Those results will count for 50%.  A panel of ASHP staff will also be judging and their collective opinion will count 50%.   Quality (rather than strictly quantity) of the tweets will weigh heavily in the judging.   You must be an ASHP member attending the meeting to qualify for the contest. However, anyone is invited to tweet along with us.
  • What is the prize? The prize is a $50 gift card to a national electronics retailer, a twitter mug, and “the title” of winner!  Winners will receive a “Twitter Winner for Summer Meeting 2011” icon that they can post to their blog or website.

The winners of the 2010 Summer Meeting Twitter Contest were Brent Fox (a member of the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology) and Ashley Overy (a member of the ASHP Pharmacy Student Forum).
