Congratulations to Jerry Fahrni and Mindy Stanton, the winners of the 2011 ASHP Summer Meeting Twitter Contest! Jerry is an IT pharmacist in California and specializes in pharmacy automation and technology and is now a three-time twitter winner. Jerry is a member of the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology. Mindy Stanton is a member of the Pharmacy Student Forum and hales from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Jerry is an avid blogger and linked some of his tweets to blog posts that he wrote about his experiences at the Summer Meeting. Mindy linked many of her tweets to pictures that she took at the meeting that helped chronicle the meeting from a pharmacy student’s point of view (including evening tweetups with fellow students that showcased Denver’s nightlife).
The Twitter contest also included a separate category for ASHP staff, and the winners are Karl Gumpper, director of the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology (now also a three-time winner of our twitter contests) and JoAnn Harris, Director of Educational Services, who tweeted her first tweets ever at this meeting and also linked to several pictures of ongoing events and sessions at the meeting.
All Tweeters had an opportunity to cast their votes for both the attendee and staff categories and their votes combined with an ASHP panel of judges, determined the contest outcome. All winners receive a $50 gift card, a customized twitter winner mug, and an icon for their website or blog.
Pictures shared by attendees in their tweets were combined into “Twitpic Midyear Photo Albums” at youtube, Album 1 and Album 2.

A big thanks to ALL the #ashpsm tweeters who added an additional twist of interest and fun to the Summer Meeting! It is getting harder and harder for the judges to pick the winners! The #ashpmidyear contest is going to be really difficult as more and more attendees are joining in and tweeting.
