Don’t forget to use the 2011 Midyear Meeting hashtag #ashpmidyear in your tweets about the meeting. Tweet before, during, or after the Midyear to share your thoughts and impressions with your peers. It’s a fun and easy way to see what’s happening everywhere and engage with others, without moving a tired foot!
The twitterfeed has really grown since it began at the 2009 Midyear. @ASHPOffical had only 99 followers going into the meeting and sponsored the first twitter contest. Heading into its third Midyear, @ASHPOfficial now has over 2400 followers. We expect the meeting tweets to reach a new high in NOLA and we have some special twitter events planned.
The 2011 Midyear Twittter Contest
Take note, because this year the Twitter Contest has been changed up a bit.
The person who tweets the best picture and accompanying caption will win a “cool” prize. The picture can be anything related to your Midyear experience. A panel of ASHP judges will select the top 10 pictures and then tweeters will pick the winner via a post-meeting survey. A Twitter picture album will be created again this year from your tweets (2010 Midyear Twitter Pic Album).
Following tradition, the cool prize will be a $50 gift card to a national electronics retailer, a twitter mug, and a twitter winner icon.
Tweet Your Question for “James & Mary” at the Opening Session
During the Opening Session, Keynote Speakers James Carville and Mary Matalin will answer a few questions that are tweeted by attendees. So get your thumbs warmed up to tweet your question for James and Mary.
Join in whether you are a twitter pro or novice! If you are a twitter "pro" consider helping a beginner get going because the more the merrier! And for all you writers and bloggers, think about writing a blog post on ASHP Connect and then include its link in an #ashpmidyear tweet and you’ll have an instant audience!
