New Enhancements to ASHP Connect

By Greg Leatham posted 11-16-2011 10:52

To help improve the overall experience of ASHP Connect, we have implemented some major enhancements to the community, profile, and discussion areas of the website. Listed below is a description of those enhancements.

COMMUNITIES
  • Discussions and libraries are now accessible directly within the community and not listed as separate areas of the site.
  • Parsing logic to allow you to sort the Communities list by Community Type, join permissions, and other criteria. This allows the user to clearly see and understand the Communities that can be joined and reviewed.
  • Join buttons for communities when a user can join.
  • Discussion, Library, and Membership icons with "status numbers" indicating content and number of community members.
  • Tooltips indicating the last action impacting the status number, such as "last discussion post: 3 days ago"
  • Community growth indicated above the Community names, such as "last person joined: yesterday" Community Landing Pages.
  • Tabs allow the user to access the Discussion, Library, and other content for the Community. The tabs contain status numbers indicating how much content exists.
  • Link to edit community settings improved to clearly indicate more than just the Community description can be changed.
  • Content Items configured to display content relevant to the Community.

DISCUSSIONS
The Discussion Group posting paths have been enhanced. Previously, the same page confirming a successful post was rendered after completing a post. Now, the posting path ends on different pages depending on where the link to post was clicked. In most cases, this returns the user to where they clicked "post" thereby providing visual confirmation that the post is accepted and displayed online.

Below is a table with all of the posting paths that have been reconfigured.
