What do you know about the history of pharmacy IT and informatics?

By Jennifer Boehne posted 05-02-2011 09:36

Pharmacy Information and Order Entry Systems have been around since the late 1960's/early 1970's. While they have evolved dramatically over the years there has
been very little written about them.

An effort is currently underway to capture and preserve as much of this knowledge as possible before those with it are no longer around.

Do you have any pictures to share of these early systems?

Here is a link to a list of individuals we have put together of that may have information about the history of pharmacy IT and/or informatics. Do you know of any people that might be interested in providing information or being interviewed?
Are there any questions you would like us to ask or explore in the interviews?
Please add to the list at the link below.
