Our Facility uses the Secure tube function for all nursing areas for a couple of reasons:
1. Only those that know the code can release the tube (there is one designated code for each nursing unit)- visitors and patients will not have access
2. The floor is aware when pharmacy sends a medication.
We also use this function if a controlled substance needs to be sent but assign it a different code.
