Emily Alexander is the founder and current pharmacist in charge of Envision Telepharmacy. She received her B.S.in Pharmacy from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Idaho State University. Emily has held a Pharmacotherapy Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties since 1999. Her professional practice involves over 25 years of hospital pharmacy practice in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Texas.
Emily is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners Executive Committee and Texas Society of Health- System Pharmacists (TSHP) Council on Public Affairs and Advocacy. She has formerly served as a member on ASHP’s Council on Public Policy, and on ASHP’s Section Advisory Group on Small and Rural Hospitals. Her practice interests include geriatrics, adult medicine, and small and rural hospital pharmacy. She is a recognized leader in telepharmacy, having successfully advanced the adoption of rule and regulation, authored papers, and implemented successful programs in the field. She speaks regionally, nationally and internationally on topics involving telepharmacy.
From her pharmacy located in Texas, she develops innovative processes and systems to improve access to pharmacy care services, and provides oversight for all services and telepharmacy systems. Envision Telepharmacy is an international provider of telepharmacy products and systems, as well as a United States service provider of telepharmacy services such as remote medication order entry and pharmacist electronic supervision. Browser based medication order management and electronic supervision of medication preparation systems are used for activities both inside and outside of sterile product preparation areas.
