My name is Hesham, I graduated from Damascus University, Syria in 2005 with a BSPharm. After that I obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy degree through the nontraditional Doctor of Pharmacy program at Purdue University. I completed a one year post graduate pharmacy residency at the Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center in Kentucky, also I obtained a teaching certificate through the University of Kentucky Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Certificate Program during my residency. I accepted a position as clinical pharmacist at the Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center where I spend the majority of my time following our patient in the intensive/ critical care unit. As a member of the clinical pharmacy team, I became involved in many endeavors throughout the hospital to improve patient care. I work with formulary evaluations, education of nursing and pharmacy staff, writing and revising protocols and implementation of patient safety initiatives. After that I have decide to expand my qualifications and I finished a PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics residency with Indiana University Health. Currently I work as the Team Leader for the Pharmacy Informatics team in Mayo Clinic Florida.
