Biography

I am a Doctor of Pharmacy Candidate at Purdue University College of Pharmacy, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2017. I have been involved on campus in both pharmacy-related and non-pharmacy related activities, including being Treasurer and National Representative of the Purdue chapter of the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists, the New Student Outreach Executive for Purdue University Dance Marathon (one of the largest dance marathons in the nation), and a Resident Assistant with Purdue University Residences. I have been involved with ASHP at the national level, serving on the Pharmacy Student Forum Ad Hoc Committee and as a Featured Student Blogger for ASHP Connect.

I have many different practice interests, and I plan on pursuing a field that I can combine my love for all different medical specialties while still working as a clinical pharmacy specialist. I plan on pursuing a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency, and then pursuing a PGY-2 residency in either critical care or pediatrics. I then hope to work as a clinical pharmacy specialist at a large academic medical center, where I can have teaching opportunities (either as a preceptor or clinical faculty member) and continue to complete clinical research.

I have an extreme passion for patient care, and I work to ensure that every patient I have the opportunity of serving receives the best medical care possible. I enjoy serving the underserved and vulnerable population, which I have learned while completing an institutional track program at a large safety-net hospital. I am also very dedicating for advocating for patients with mental illness, and enjoy the thought of serving these patients as a non-psychiatric pharmacy specialist.

Outside of pharmacy, I love cooking, musical theater, playing clarinet, and spending time with my friends! I love throwing dinner parties and entertaining, and I try to cook for my friends at every available opportunity. I also enjoy finding fun things to do, and exploring new restaurants and shops. I currently live in Indianapolis, and I have enjoyed getting to know the city better and taking advantage of every available opportunity!
