Wes Pitts, PharmD, BCPS, FASHP, FMSHP is System Director of Pharmacy for North Mississippi Health Services and Director of Pharmacy Services at North Mississippi Medical Center (NMMC) in Tupelo. Wes is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy (BSPS 1998, PharmD 2000). Wes obtained certification by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) in 2009. Wes is responsible for leading acute care pharmacy services across NMHS as well as overseeing pharmacist activity in clinics and the NMMC Employee Pharmacy.
Wes is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Mississippi and Union University Schools of Pharmacy. Wes has had the privilege to being a preceptor to many students and pharmacy residents.
Wes is an active member of the Mississippi Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP) and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Wes is a Past-President of MSHP and has also served MSHP as Membership Chair, Delegate for the ASHP House of Delegates, Education Council Member for Annual Meetings and One-Day CE Events, and Newsletter Editor. Wes has served ASHP as past chair of the ASHP Fellows Recognition Committee, as member of the ASHP Council on Affiliate Relations, and past chair of the ASHP Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners Educational Steering Committee.
